【SCIE网站090114 G-25班讯】莲花山公园商务活动——销售气球体验商务知识,集玩乐与学习于一体。
上星期日,G25班19名同学和班主任谭分老师一起,到莲花山公园现场制作艺术气球和销售。通过这次具体的商务实践活动,我们不但增强了班级集体荣誉感,还加深了商务知识的理解。
早上十点,所有参加活动的同学在离正门较近的草坪上选了个空旷的位置,铺设简单的工作台,然后,王翊人同学指导大家熟悉各种气球玩具的制作。我们的产品涉及各种玩具狗、熊、猴子,还有太阳花,玩具武器等。虽然我们以前做过,但到了实践现场,都有点忘记制作步骤了。与此同时,在公园里面玩耍的小朋友和家长却很快就被我们这样一个特殊的活动吸引了过来,小朋友们开始盯上了我们手中的长气球,可爱的充气筒。
班委会曾经对各位同学的兴趣做了简单的调查,一部分同学负责加工生产,一部分同学负责销售。王昀初和杜凯迪,文思哲,周珺,张硕等负责制作,他们在熟悉了制作流程后,立即加工制作。第一组玩具是两个宝剑,从事销售的周芷铭,张曼则马上把产品投入市场——她们选择两个三岁左右的小男孩作为目标客户,在小孩面前表演了几下舞剑的动作,小男孩们马上就把玩具抢了过去,于是她们的第一笔交易就轻松完成了。接下来销售组又还接下了一个大单,两个在一起玩的小女孩对我们制作的其他类型的玩具都表现出极大的兴趣,于是,她们的妈妈一口气就买下了13个!
意外的好生意使我们激动不已,相互鼓励加速生产,抓紧时间把做好的玩具送到销售组,好一派热火朝天。可是好景不长,公园管理处的工作人员过来了。原来其他卖玩具和卖风筝的小贩们——我们的竞争对手,不满意人流都被我们吸引了,就向管理处要求把我们赶出去。这时,班主任出面说明这是非赢利的商务活动,管理处才通融让我们待到十二点,但不得在在生产场地的附近销售了。这样一来,负责销售的同学不得不跑到远远的地方,销售严重受挫,到中午十二点,积压的玩具还比较多,于是,我们决定采用促销价策略,降价销售,清除库存。
通过这次活动,我们都感慨良多,有的总结我们的准备工作不足,虽然之前做过一些简单的市场调查,找到了这样一个突破口,但是,我们在现场没有好的工作台,而且原材料——购置的气球质量不够好,严重影响了生产效率。王翊人同学还总结,我们这次最有吸引力的地方是边做变卖,可惜没有和公园管理处协调好。王达同学还总结,这次活动对自己的动手能力有很好的锻炼,下次有机会要再锻炼锻炼自己的销售能力。
这次活动虽然不到两个小时,我们还是做到了收支平衡,而且也懂得,即使是普通的东西,只要有内在的情趣在,都能创造出美丽。
On the 11th of January, at 10 a.m. 19 students from G2-5 together with our form teacher Chloe, took part in a meaningful activity, making and selling balloon toys in Lianhua Mountain Park. This activity not only strengthened the relationship of the whole class, but also helped them how to apply knowledge learnt in the class to the real world.
After all of us gathered in the front gate of the park, we began to choose a shiny premise in the square near the front gate. Our product had a wide range of balloon toys, which included dogs, bears, monkeys, sun flowers and weapons. When we began to make our toys balloons, we almost had forgotten the complex process of making them. So, we had to follow Aviva, the tutor of making the toys. As we were making the toys, many children and their parents were attracted by our colorful balloons and lovely toys.
According to the survey carried out earlier in the class, we had divided the class into two groups, production team and sales team. Arthur, Jeff, Kingston, Dorothy, Echo and Jack were in the production team; Kimmy and Emery were in charge of sales. Janice was taking the photographic job. After the first batch of toys was completed, Kimmy and Emery used the promotion method taught in our business studies class called “point of sale display”. They fought with each other with the toy weapons. Two little boys passing by were attracted and wanted to play with them. Kimmy and Emery finally sold the weapons to them. We also got a big order of 13 toys from other two young mothers.
When we were busy with making toy flowers and monkeys, we encouraged each other to produce more toys with better quality, and also sell more. However, the guard of the park came to stop us doing so. After our form teacher Chloe negotiated with the guard on the issue, we got 50 minutes more to produce and sell the toys for a non-profit commerce activity . At last, we had to use promotional price to clear the stock.
All of us have learnt a lot from this activity. Kingston said we could have prepared better in advance. Although there was a good market opportunity, we were lacking of experience and the quality of the balloons was not so good. Aviva said ‘point of sale' is a good promotion method for selling balloon toys. Jack said he learnt a lot in hands-on skills, and he is looking forward to learn more selling skills in the future.
This activity lasted two hours. The revenue and cost was about to break even. We believe that beauty can be created only if there are meaningful things inside.
