On April 8th, the students in biology class and teachers had a field trip to Hong Kong Wetland Park to study ecology. We left our school at 9:30 am and finally arrived 2 hours later.
After entered the Wetland Park, we were attracted to the little sea turtles which were swimming in the container and the paper makings exhibited. Our teachers gave us some time to watch them out and then we had a lunch.
About one hour later, Dee handed out the worksheets to everyone and told us to finish it in 2 hours. Then we divided into groups by ourselves and followed the routs on the sheet to visit every single area in the park. Such as Pui Pui’s home, Succession Walk, Mangrove and Mudflat Hide. After the walk, we knew that the salt water crocodile, Pui Pui’s adaptation to the environment and also saw so many special species in Mangrove area, like the fiddle crabs. The most exciting part I suggest must be the hides. Because I discovered many species of birds that I rarely seen before by using the telescope provided there. But if there was no professional guides to tell what are their species, you will find hard to recognize.
At about 4pm, we backed to the hall and watched a video about wetland organisms. Even it was short but quite lively!
