Visiting Calligraphy Artist
　　著名书法家来访SCIE

　　On Thursday November 13th a visiting calligraphist came to our Art & Design classroom to teach our students the traditional art form of brush pen writing.

　　Jiao Fengjun is the Principal of Huabao Art School, one of many titles he holds. After a short history of calligraphy, the students had the opportunity to learn how the characters evolved through the years. Jiao Fengjun explained how the whole body and physical movement are involved in the method. The students discovered the different styles and purposes of calligraphy. They had the chance to understand the technique and its subtlety. Now they will carry the roots of their culture overseas when studying abroad and will be able to use their knowledge as a background for their artwork, integrating Chinese calligraphy in their creative projects.
　　11月13日一位书法家来到了我校美术组，教学生们学写毛笔字。这位书法家焦凤君是画家艺术学校的校长，还有很多其它头衔。在短暂地介绍了书法的历史后，他开始向同学们展示书法在历史上的字体演变。焦老师向大家解释了写毛笔字的过程中整个身体及运动的作用。学生们发现了书法的很多笔体及风格的不同，他们也了解到了其中的技巧及微妙之处。通过这些学习，同学们在出了国门后还可以保持、继承我国文化的根基，并可以在设计他们的艺术作品时使用这些知识，将中国的书法艺术融合到个人创作之中。
