2009年2月8日是我校G2.6和G1插班生报到时间。在招生办和行政综合处的大力支持下，宽敞明亮的乒乓球馆已井然有条的布置成新生接待处。下午两点左右，已有新生在家长的陪同下陆续来校，我校高年级的学生志愿者开始四处奔忙，热情地引领前来的新生和家长。班主任、生活老师和财务处等有关人员和部门都在各自的接待点，热情认真的为新生和家长服务。在全校各个部门的通力合作下，新生有序的完成了报到注册手续，开始了在SCIE的新生活。

　　On the afternoon of Sunday 8th February, 26 G2 students and nine G1 students arrived to enrol at SCIE. Many came with their parents and with luggage in tow. With help from the Student Recruitment and Support Services, the entire process went smoothly in the Table Tennis Hall, where different departments, including Finance, the Education Administration Office, the Student Affairs Office, and the Dormitory, had their work stations set up in a row to deal with each step of the enrolment procedure. There were also some current SCIE students who gave up their holiday time to be guides for the new students and their parents. The first student came at the assigned starting time of 2pm and within one hour all expected new members of the college had happily completed their enrolment.
