Recently, the list of highest mark achievers in China and in the world, for IGCSE, AS and A-Level examinations taken in June 2009, was sent to our school by Cambridge International Examinations. The list shows that our top students kept to the lofty standards set by the previous year’s results, published in the last edition of this publication. In last year’s CIE exams, ten students obtained the highest marks in various subjects in China, and two achieved the highest marks in the whole world! CIE has also sent congratulatory awards to these students, known as the ‘Brilliance in China Award’. According to Mr. Joe Greenwood, the Academic Head, the results of external examinations have been getting better year by year and it is due to fact that students have worked hard and teachers have improved their teaching methods through greater familiarity with the syllabuses.

　　近期我校收到了剑桥考试中心寄来的2009年6月的IGCSE，AS，A年级考试的全世界和全中国的最高分成绩单。去年我们取得的出色成绩已经在上期校刊中刊登出来了，而今年我们一鼓作气，又一次取得了优异的成绩。今年六月的CIE考试中，我校十位同学考出了各学科的全国最高分，两位同学甚至位列全世界之首！CIE给这些同学发来了祝贺奖状—“中国杰出表现奖”。教学副院长Joe Greenwood认为，我校的校外考试成绩之所以年年高升，原因在于学生们自身的努力以及老师更加熟悉教学大纲并不断提升教学方法。

　　Mr. Greenwood also stated that the achievements these former students have attained would also set an objective for the current students to work towards. As he put it, “everyone can be the best in the world; you just have to work on it.”

　　副院长同时强调说，上面这些同学取得的成绩也为我校的其它学生设立了一个奋斗的目标。就象他所说：“每一个同学都可以成为全世界最好的学生，只要你用心去努力。”
